Just Marvel-OUS

Picture

Four months in the making! This custom order has actually be in the works since October 2019. That's when I received the request. And I love custom orders!

Prior to starting this order I had others on my plate and I was also balancing a lot of stress inducing work related to conferences and just staffing. But in the back of my mind, I was always plotting colors to use, materials to embellish them and make sure that my interpretation of the characters embodied the figures.

Each represented a new challenge to my skills as a crafter as well as creating exactly what the purchased was looking for in a unique gift.

So to say these 6 custom figures are just the tip of the iceberg on this order is putting it mildly, because it's still not done. These are being made in a series. These 6 are series I.

Each figure presented their own set of challenges.
I found myself being a hairstylist in perfecting haircuts and facial hair. A jewelry maker as I tried to find the perfect mix and medium for adornments. I bought modeling clay, gold and silver leaf, metallic acrylic paints, and more. Playing around with mediums to achieve the best effects on these creations.

I even did a bit of crochet cosmetic surgery when one character's derriere just wasn't up to snuff.
But as I worked on designing the patterns and took out many a stitch, I found myself getting excited as usual when an idea came together.

It's been a labor of love and I've changed my favorites as I've gone along. Ones that originally were my least favorite when I started out, are now ones I didn't want to give up. Through much trial and error, the process and evolution in the smallest of details has helped my ideas come together.

These have reached their new owner and the next in the series are in the works. And there are many more favorites coming!

All patterns and design work are my own inspiration and interpretation so no two are going to be exactly the same. But each will have my passion for creating unique custom gifts you just can't find anywhere else. And if you've got a custom crochet idea you'd like to bring to life-message me! I'm always up for a challenge.
I'd love to work with you to craft your next IN demand crochet gift!
