In 2006, my best friend was expecting her first child, and I wanted to give her something truly special—a handmade gift from the heart. So, I taught myself to crochet.
On a trip to the mall with friends, I picked up a crochet kit that would change my spare time forever. I haven’t stopped crocheting since! That first project—a baby gift set—was a labor of love. It took time, but in the process, I learned multiple stitches, techniques, and how to read and modify patterns to create the effect I wanted. (I’m still trying to get my friend to send me an updated picture of the full set, but she’s keeping it under lock and key!) |
When people saw the baby set I made, the compliments started pouring in. Then came the requests: Can you make this? What about that?
With each new project, I honed my skills, experimented with stitches, and found creative ways to bring people’s ideas to life—sometimes even before they knew exactly what they wanted! That passion for creating heartfelt, one-of-a-kind gifts naturally grew into Crochet In Demand.

You’ll rarely find me without a crochet hook and a skein of yarn. Inspiration comes from everywhere—people’s interests, little moments of whimsy, and even everyday color combinations. While I make hats and scarves, my heart belongs to dolls, toys, and character pieces. I guess I’m just a big kid at heart! There’s nothing quite like seeing someone’s face light up when I’ve captured exactly what they envisioned. (And yes, there are plenty of times I want to keep my own creations!) |
Hopefully, we can create the perfect custom gift together!
